Hydraulic Systems

Our engineering group can design self-contained hydraulic systems for all applications. From fractional horsepower standard power packs to large horsepower custom-designed systems, we can provide the answer. Just give us your specifications and we will determine the best solution to meet your machine requirements.

We can design custom reservoirs to fit specific envelope requirements or use JIC standard reservoir dimensions. All hydraulic systems are 100% tested and all adjustments are set so start-up of the power unit is minimized. We can also provide commissioning support of the system on-site if required. In addition, we can provide electrical packages to further complete the hydraulic system.

Hydraulic Safety Upgrades

In December 2004 the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) implemented an update to the Z142-02 Safety Code for Power Press Operation (Health, Safety and Guarding Requirements). This document outlines the safety items required for upgrading new and existing power press and press brakes to meet the new safety standard. Hydraflow an FPH Group Company is quickly being recognized as a specialist in hydraulic press and press brake upgrades to CSA Z142-02 regulations. We provide excellence in design engineering and product support for all types of hydraulic safety applications.

Hydraulic Manifolds and Integrated Circuits

Hydraulic manifolds and Integrated Circuits can simplify hydraulic piping and minimize potential leak points. Our engineers can take your existing hydraulic circuit and using cartridge and surface mount valves, design a custom manifold to match your requirements. Manifolds typically have smaller envelopes as compared to line-mounted installations and can provide a cost saving by reducing your fitting requirements. They can also provide a simple means for troubleshooting as all of our manifolds have capabilities to install pressure test points for future serviceability.

Hydraulic Training

In-house or on-site basic hydraulic training is available to customers that wish to improve their maintenance department capabilities. Most hydraulic problems can be solved with a simple understanding of component function and the ability to read hydraulic schematics. Our approach to personalized hydraulic training will enable your staff to understand how the hydraulic machines in your plant operate and minimize costly service calls from qualified service technicians. All we ask is that you provide us with your specific requirements we will design the training to suit.

Hydraulic Repair and Overhaul

Our service group can inspect and repair all makes and models of hydraulic components. We will provide our customers with written evaluation of the extent of the repair and potential cause of failure. Quick turnaround of the inspection will enable our customers to quickly determine whether to repair or replace the component.

In addition, this analysis will assist our customers in evaluating whether other problems exist in their hydraulic systems that could lead to additional failures. As 75% of component failures are the result of contamination in the oil, our inspection will determine what lead to the failure and prevent costly downtime.

Our 150HP servo-controlled hydraulic test stand has the capability of testing pumps, motors, valves and cylinders, and can perform functional testing of custom hydraulic manifolds and integrated circuits.

On-Site Installations and Troubleshooting

If a hydraulic problem cannot be solved internally, then Fluid Power House, in conjunction with our service partners, can provide on-site troubleshooting of hydraulic systems to solve customer performance issues.

A qualified technician can determine which component is not functioning properly and re-set the hydraulics to original specifications. As many hydraulic systems do not make use of current technologies, we can suggest upgrades to existing machinery to increase the performance and improve productivity.
